    Jacob Burgess was originally buried in the Davidson-Bates private cemetery (Beaverdam Twp., Cherokee County, NC [35.120412, -84.114497]). In 1938, he was reinterred by the TVA (in preparation for the Hiawasse Dam Project) in the Salem Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery. The TVA documents list his birth and death dates as "1873"and "1930" respectively. The documents also list "UNK" as cause of death.
