Andrew Whitener was originally buried in the Davidson-Bates private cemetery (Beaverdam Twp., Cherokee County, NC). In 1938, he was reinterred by the TVA (in preparation for the Hiawasse Dam Project) in the Ogreeta Baptist Church Cemetery near Murphy, NC. The TVA documents list his birth and death dates as 1917 and 1917 respectively. The documents also list "WHCF" as cause of death. Hereinafter cited as TVA Cemetery Relocation.
