This is the land, "all the land I own on the west side of Singleton Creek" that David G. inherited from his grandfather, John Clanton Sr. Senior, in turn, had inherited the land from his father, David Clanton. In May of 1853, Richard H., A.J., and David G. Clanton begin selling their interest in the "Clanton lands." This land was left by John Senior to his grandsons in his will. AJ and Richard sell their shares to Benjamin Gibbons. David G. sells his share to John Perry. Gibbons, in turn, sells his interest to John Perry.
