    Rebecca Jones Whitener was originally buried in the Davidson-Bates private cemetery (Beaverdam Twp., Cherokee County, NC [35.120412, -84.114497). In 1938, she was reinterred by the TVA (in preparation for the Hiawasse Dam Project) in the Ogreeta Baptist Church Cemetery near Murphy, NC. The TVA documents list her birth and death dates as 1854 and 1927 respectively. The documents also list "CNCR" as cause of death.
