Words were exchanged, pistols drown and then fired. Kit Bryant lay dead and his son Zach seriously wounded. Jim Sutton was charged with the shooting, but it was determined that he acted in self-defense." " KB was shot & killed with a pistol. "Mr. Zach Bryant, who was wounded in the arm and side, in the same melee, is getting well. There had been no kindly feelings existing between these parties from this and other causes, for some time."
