He was a medical doctor upon arrival. Arrived Lincoln County (then ? County, present Catawba) by 1758 according to information related by his son, Adam, in his lengthy application for a pension for his service in the Revolutionary War (RWP# R9389). Fate of Jacob Setzer I is unknown. Wife had married Conrad Mingus by 1881. She died before 1796 and Conrad Mingus married Maria Sigmon.
