Jacob Setzer, I. Arrived with brother, Michael, at Philadelphia on ship "Brothers" on September 26, 1753. Preceeded by brother, George Tabias Setzer, on September 14, 1751.
He was a medical doctor upon arrival.
Arrived Lincoln County (then ? County, present Catawba) by 1758 according to information related by his son, Adam, in his lengthy application for a pension for his service in the Revolutionary War (RWP# R9389).
Fate of Jacob Setzer I is unknown. Wife had married Conrad Mingus by 1881. She died before 1796 and Conrad Mingus married Maria Sigmon.

Johann Adam Setzer. Adam served three periods of active duty in the Revolutionary War, and eventually received a pension for his service (RWP #R9389). Entered service 1 June 1781 with his stepfather Conrad Mingus.
He married at age 23 a short time before he entered the service.
1790 Burke County Census: 4M -16, 1M +16; 2F. (Near Gamewell).
He and wife, Elizabeth, are buried at Littlejohn Methodist Church.
